Fresh from highlighting the mundane lines of questioning that female actors are often faced with, Kristen Stewart has hit out at other people’s desire to define her sexuality, one way or the other. In an interview with NYLON, the Twilight star and one-time Balenciaga model discussed the idea that it’s something that doesn’t really need addressing right now. “If you feel like you really want to define yourself, and you have the ability to articulate those parameters and that in itself defines you, then do it," she says. "But I am an actress, man. I live in the fucking ambiguity of this life and I love it. I don’t feel like it would be true for me to be like, ‘I’m coming out!’ No, I do a job. Until I decide that I’m starting a foundation or that I have some perspective or opinion that other people should be receiving, I don’t. I’m just a kid making movies.” Stewart also senses that a total overhaul of the way we think about sexuality is not far away. "I think in three or four years, there are going to be a whole lot more people who don’t think it’s necessary to figure out if you’re gay or straight. It’s like, just do your thing.” She isn’t the only artist to demonstrate an exasperation with an intrusive media focus on sexuality or love-life. FKA twigs recently refused to entertain questions about her relationship with Robert Pattinson, even saying at the end, "I think this could be my last interview". Escape the algorithm!
